We founded our firm on a two-part thesis. Part one: The pace of artificial intelligence's evolution will only continue to accelerate for the foreseeable future. One data point we cite to measure this belief is METR’s time horizon, a benchmark for measuring how long of a task (measured in human-expert-hours) an artificial intelligence agent can complete autonomously with 50% reliability.

This metric has increased exponentially over the past six years, with a doubling time of roughly seven months.

Part two: Someone could think this view of acceleration would result in an inevitable churn of the dominant, durable companies of today. However, our view is that the businesses that see strength in the decades to come will not be solely those created in the last five to ten years; they will be businesses of two, three, five, ten decades that are able to take advantage of established trust, relationships, and standards held over time while ensuring processes and offerings remain at the forefront of quality via aggressive implementation of new technology at startup pace.

Put otherwise, these self-selecting enterprises will compound faster than even the most frontier startups by 1) doubling down on advantages they have built over decades and 2) using accumulated resources at scale to take advantage of frontier technology benefits.

Tetra operates by embedding directly with specified organizations, departments, and teams to build custom systems, tooling, and automated processes that both drive down costs without reliance on headcount reduction and accelerate revenue generation without reliance on spend increase. We eliminate friction points and do not rely on forcing team members to adopt new painful processes. Our goal is to be invisible while allowing the enterprises we partner with to compound more on their time and capital.
